Three different groups, treated differently:
| Group | What we collect |
|---|---|
| Our customers (contractors who pay us) | Business name, owner name, email, phone, trade, city, the phone number assigned to the account, and lead activity logs. Billing is handled by Stripe — we never store card numbers. |
| End callers (homeowners who call our customers) | Phone number, the content and timestamps of SMS messages exchanged with the contractor's number, and call status (answered or missed). |
| Sales prospects (contractors we contact) | Publicly listed business information only — business name, trade, city, published phone, published email, public licence numbers and website. |
SMS conversation history is retained for 18 months from the last activity, then purged. Customer account and billing records are retained as long as the account is active, plus the period required for tax and accounting purposes.
Colorado law (C.R.S. 6-1-713) requires any business holding personal identifying information about Colorado residents to maintain a written policy for destroying it. Ours: personal identifying information is destroyed once it is no longer needed for the purpose it was collected for, or at the retention limits above, whichever comes first. Electronic records are deleted from the storage systems listed below, including backups, on the same schedule. Paper records, where any exist, are shredded. This policy is reviewed annually.
We maintain security practices appropriate to the size of our business and the sensitivity of the data, as required by C.R.S. 6-1-713.5. In practice that means: encrypted transport for all data in transit, credentials held in managed secret storage rather than in code or files, administrative interfaces that are not publicly reachable, access limited to the business owner, and a suppression list that fails closed — if we cannot confirm whether someone has opted out, we do not contact them.
Colorado's breach notification law (C.R.S. 6-1-716) applies to us regardless of our size. If we determine that a security breach affecting Colorado residents' personal information has occurred, we will notify affected residents within 30 days of that determination. If 500 or more Colorado residents are affected we will also notify the Colorado Attorney General within 30 days, and if more than 1,000 are affected we will notify the consumer reporting agencies.
You can ask us to:
Email privacy@coloradotradeleads.com or write to the postal address above. We respond within 30 days. We will not charge you, and we will not treat you differently for asking.
The Colorado Privacy Act applies to businesses that process the personal data of 100,000 or more Colorado residents in a year, or that derive revenue from selling the data of 25,000 or more. We are well below both thresholds and are not currently a covered controller. We have chosen to honour the access, correction, deletion and opt-out rights above anyway, because they are the right way to operate and cost us nothing. If we ever cross those thresholds, this policy will be updated and the statutory obligations will apply in full.
If you received a text from a contractor using our system, the SMS Terms · SMS Consent page explains how it works, what to expect, and how to stop it. Opting out is permanent and applies across every contractor on our platform, not just the one you contacted.
How you consent. You consent by calling a contractor's published business number. If the call is not answered, a recorded message tells you before you hang up that you will receive a text, what it is for, how to stop it, and that message and data rates may apply. If you do not want to be texted, hanging up during that message means no text is sent.
How often. One reply to your missed call, then messages only while your enquiry is being handled — typically five to fifteen in a conversation, capped at 30 per enquiry. At most three further messages over 90 days if the enquiry was never resolved.
Cost. We never charge you for messages. Message and data rates may apply from your mobile carrier.
Stopping. Reply STOP, STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END or QUIT. Reply HELP or INFO for assistance, or call (719) 259-0604.
Who sees your number. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All other categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties. Mobile phone numbers and consent are never sold, and are never shared with any other business for their own marketing. The only party your number is passed to is the specific contractor whose published business number you dialled.
We use a small number of service providers. We do not sell data to them; they process it on our behalf.
This is a service sold to businesses. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. Material changes affecting how we use information already collected will be communicated to affected customers directly.
Contact us first — we would rather fix it. If you are not satisfied, you can contact the Colorado Attorney General's Office, Consumer Protection Section, at coag.gov/file-complaint.
